ANNOUNCEMENT:
10/9/2023 - The Web Committee is now the I.T. Committee with added responsibilities. We will be making the changes to the website and this page over the next few weeks.
Who We Are
Our duties are to attend all monthly A.A. District 5 District meetings, to serve the district, to provide an online presence as a clearinghouse of AA news, information and resources, list available info on upcoming recovery-based activities in the district, post and maintain a current and attend all Area I.T. Specific Committee meetings.
Purpose
The I.T. Committee shall assist Alcoholics Anonymous (A.A.) in District 5 in carrying the message of A.A. and providing information about the A.A. Fellowship to the public. The Website shall be a Public Information vehicle and shall present only publicly available information about A.A. operating within the principles embodied in the Twelve Traditions of A.A.
Guarding Online Anonymity
Modern communication in A.A. is flowing from one alcoholic to another in ways that are high-tech, relatively open-ended and evolving quickly. Protecting anonymity is a major concern for members, who are accessing the Internet in ever-growing numbers. We observe all A.A.’s principles and Traditions on the A.A. District 5 website.

- To determine the content for the website.

A.A. Guidelines from General Service Office (GSO) for Internet
A.A. Guidelines are compiled from the shared experience of A.A. members in various service areas. They also reflect guidance given through the Twelve Traditions and the General Service Conference (U.S. and Canada). The purpose of these Guidelines is to assist in reaching an informed group conscience.
