Corrections Defined
District 5 Corrections Committee
Who we are
We are part of a Nationwide AA effort to bring the Message of Recovery to inmates in jails, support Prison Meetings, supplying facilities with literature, and raising awareness of other correspondence and transition programs available in AA.
What we do
The volunteers of the District 5 Corrections Facilities Committee carry the AA message into Deschutes County Jail, Deschutes County Work Release Program, and Jefferson County Jail.
Volunteers facilitate meetings in the jails and offer a Ride to Recovery Program to pick up and bring individuals to a meeting after they are released. This final step may be the most important one of all, because experience shows that the first few hours of an inmate’s release can be the critical ones.
